In developed countries, up to 7 out of 10 children now survive cancer. Unfortunately, only 1 in 5 children in the world have access to the level of treatment and care required to make this possible, which means most children are still dying unnecessary. Some cancers are simple and inexpensive to treat. This makes the situation all the more disheartening.
The Lisa Thaxter Trust has a sponsorship programme to fund the treatment in these cases. The programme is run by eminent childhood cancer specialists who give their time to support the treatment in developing countries.
You can help in two ways:
Have one of our special money boxes at home or work. When it is filled you will have enough money (£40) to pay for the treatment of drugs for one child. Ask for your money box today by calling 01737 55 54 11 or emailing info@lisathaxer.org
Or -
Donate £10 a month for two years and we can put a child on a programme of regular treatment and keep you informed of their progress. You will know that your support is giving hope to a child with cancer and their family.
